KRISTA LEE JOHNSON
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
I believe that art is more than something to look at — it’s something to feel. My work is grounded in realism, not simply in form, but in emotion and presence. I paint what moves me: the breath of a horse, the hush of a foggy morning, the glow of light tracing across a face or a forest. These are the moments that catch my breath — and I paint them to help you catch yours.
My art is not about spectacle. It’s about connection. I’m not interested in presenting a perfect image, but in revealing the quiet truth beneath it — the subtle essence that lingers behind the visible. I don’t choose my subjects; they choose me, when something in them resonates, when I sense a story beneath the surface worth listening to.
I don’t paint to make a statement. I paint to offer a pause — a stillness — a way to remember beauty in a world that moves too fast. If my paintings help you slow down, look closer, or feel more deeply, then they’ve done their work.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my art. I hope it speaks to something true in you.
